No Rest for the Wicked Skill Tree — Abilities, Upgrades, and Specializations

Updated 2026-06-03

The skill tree in No Rest for the Wicked is a large, interconnected web divided into three branches: Combat, Endurance, and Cerim. Each branch has 20–30 nodes. You earn one skill point per level up, with a current cap of 50 in Early Access (raising to 100 in 1.0).

Branch overview

BranchFocusKey Nodes
CombatWeapon damage, attack speed, crit chancePrecision Strike, Weapon Mastery, Berserker
EnduranceStamina, HP, defense, poiseIron Will, Second Wind, Stone Body
CerimCleanse power, Corruption resist, special abilitiesPurifying Flame, Entity Sense, Last Stand

For a first playthrough, invest 40% in Combat, 35% in Endurance, and 25% in Cerim. This gives good damage output, enough stamina to survive, and useful Cerim abilities for corrupted zones. Pure builds (all in one branch) are viable but challenging.

The 'Second Wind' node in the Endurance branch is the single best early-game skill. It gives a stamina refund on successful parries, enabling extended combat chains.

Specialization nodes

At the bottom of each branch are capstone specialization nodes that require 30+ points in that branch. Berserker (Combat) boosts damage at low HP. Stone Body (Endurance) makes you immune to stagger. Last Stand (Cerim) lets you survive one lethal hit per shrine rest.

The Best Builds guide shows complete skill trees for each archetype. The Respec guide explains how to reset your skill points if you want to change paths.
