No Rest for the Wicked Multiplayer — Online Co-Op Explained

Updated 2026-06-03

Multiplayer in No Rest for the Wicked is online co-op only — there is no competitive PvP mode. The Together Co-op Update in January 2026 added full campaign co-op for up to four players. The system uses dedicated servers for stable connections and supports shared progression for the host.

How co-op works

  • Host invites up to three players from the in-game menu.
  • All players share the host's world state and quest progress.
  • Each player keeps their own character, gear, and levels.
  • Loot drops are instanced — each player sees their own loot.
  • Players can trade items within the session.

Matchmaking

There is no automatic matchmaking. You must invite friends through the Steam friends list or the in-game invite system. Moon Studios has not announced plans for a public lobby system, but community feedback requesting it has been noted.

Co-op scales enemy health and damage based on the number of players. A four-player party faces enemies with roughly 2.5x health compared to solo play.

The Co-op guide has detailed instructions for setting up sessions. The Best Builds guide recommends co-op-optimized builds.
